Playing with felt

I love felt! I got some adorable felt flower die cuts and I've been mixing and matching them to make headbands and hair clips. I hope to buy a die cutting machine for felt in the future, but I do want to make sure there's enough of a demand first! So this week I will be adding all sorts of felt goodness.

Isn't she the cutest little model ever?

Being a stay at home mom is wonderful. But i've got this urge inside of me to do something with myself, and luckily it's something I can do from home. I used to have a hairbow shop on etsy.com two years ago when I was a stay at home mom before. I loved doing it, but when I had to go to work I put my shop on vactaion mode and boxed up all of my supplies. Well I am so happy to announce that I'M BACK!! Sales aren't coming like they were before so far, but I know they will come in time once I start getting repeat business/word of mouth. here's some of the things I've been listing....

Lucky for me I have the cutest model ever who works for the sake of helping mommy, she loves to watch me make hair bows and loves seeing her cute face on the website.

Come take a look chloescuties.etsy.com

I love halloween!

I found the cutest papers for Halloween by The Girls Paperie, and I knew I wanted to do something special with them. I found an old frame I wasn't using, then I made this project:

but then I decided that the frame color wasn't really working with the colors of the project so I spraypainted it black:

Then I decided that the frame was too bare, so I created these flowers with these tutorials:

box flower on the Cosmo Cricket blog

and the paper rose on Stacy cohen's blog

Voila!! now I love it!!

Pacific Science Center

Since moving to the Seattle area the Pacific Science Center has been something on the to do list. We finally went on a very rainy sunday. We had a really fun time, I definately reccomend visiting if your in the Seattle area. The best part of it in a scrapbooking sense was that I already had most of my layout in my ticket stubs, fliers and photo booth pictures. I got home and in the same day I whipped out this layout in no time.

Magistical Memories guest designer contest (again)

So Magistical Memories is having another layout challenge here. You have to be sure to use chipboard in your layout, and use this sketch:

Here's my take:

I don't think I used quite enough chipboard on my layout last time. This time I used a lot more chipboard, so maybe this time I could win! I did this one in the 8.5/11 size, because I want to do a binder type album for each year the kids are in school. I will add all of the progress reports and artworks, along with the scrapbook pages.

On another note....We took a little (3 hour) trip to my favorite store ever- IKEA. I'm especially fond of all of the organizational stuff since we moved into a tiny apartment. I got this art hanger thingie, and it's perfect for displaying all of Chloe's artwork.

This little cube wasn't totally neccesary, but it was 39.99! So cheap, and oh so cute. And someday this will be incorporated into my "someday craft room". I can buy more of them in the same color and different sizes to make an awesome space. Untill then it will store the kids art supplies, and the few scrappy supplies that my 3 year old can't ruin (punches, stamps).

Ever since I first laid eye's on Cosmo Cricket's "Material Girl" I was in love. It was perfect for making this little wall hanging. Here's a layout that is a mish-mash of papers and just sort of thrown together. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet!

Here's a Christmas layout that I did for sketchinspiration.ning.com

A scrapping hiatus

Yes, it's been FOREVER since i've posted. Quite a bit has happened. We moved from Reno, NV to the Seattle , WA area, and we moved from a house to a small apartment. Which unfortunately means that for the next year I don't have a dedicated scrapping space. I have my supplies divided into two different closets, so gathering up the things I need for a project is quite the hassle! Yesterday I got a birthday package from my BFF Kristine. I saw the Two Peas in a Bucket label and I knew it was from her. It was filled with all sorts of Nerdy Bird from Sassafrass goodies, so of course I had to play right away! It just so happens that I did this layout about my BFF right before she sent my wonderful suprise!
Here's the nerdy bird supplies in use, they were perfect for this adorable photo of Cavan. Below are more layouts that I never got around to sharing.

My Backporch Memories Challenge

I received my kit full of goodies from Backporch Memories yesterday. It was like Christmas! I was so excited to do my layout for my Photo Challenge as the guest designer. My challenge was to do a layout with photo's of different people at the same age. Like mother/daughter, siblings, husband/wife, etc...

Here's what I did:

I was instantly in love when I saw "Brook" from Crate Paper. It has soothing natural colors, just beautiful!

I kept this layout fairly simple because I wanted the focus to be on the photo's, but those glitter chip shapes made it super easy to add a little something extra! The little memo pins from Tim Holtz were so adorable and perfect for holding a little note, wouldn't cha say?

Everything on this layout is from the June medley kit, except for the buttons which are from my stash. Also I used my Martha Stewart border punch, and I used my Slice to make the flower. Go check out Backporch Memories if you want to join the challenge to win some goodies!

just a quick layout

I was in the mood to do a page and it wasn't for a contest, can you believe it? When I first started scrapbooking it was just about capturing those memories. now with so many sketch sites, challenge blogs, and design team calls, it's hard not to play along. I guess I figure I'm gonna be scrappin anyway, why not try to win something!

Here's what I did:

I used some of the leftover papers that I used on the shadowbox, some from "Dear Lizzy", American Crafts, and Making Memories. I'm happy I was able to blend some different manufactures together becasue lately I feel that I'm in a rut of sticking to one line because it's already coordinated.

On another note, over on the backporch memories forum, one of the ladies shared this awesome blog that I will now share with you. Do you like journaling labels? Do you like free stuff?
