Happy mothers day!!!!! (a day late, but shouldn't every day be mothers day?)

Here's what I made for my mother in law. I was at my LSS and I came across this painters tray by 7 Gypsies I was instantly in love, I couldn't wait to fill up those little cubby holes with scrappy goodness! I think I could have added even more, but I wasn't sure if it would come across as shabby chic, or overcrowded, so I kept it just like this.

My only hope is that it's survived the mail!!!

Cosmo cricket is giving away products from their brand new line "Delovely". It's super adorable, bright and cheery just how I like it!

Here's the sketch they provided:

And here's what I did with it:

Hope I win!!!

So I only started my obsession for scrapbooking just two years ago. Now I have the challenging task of looking back at really old pictures and trying to remeber just what exactly was going on, what was Chloe doing at this age??!! (this is a good reason to scrap if you don't already!)

My solution for this on this particular layout was to gather some photos of Chloe with her big happy smiles and recall what a happy little baby she was. No it's not too specific, but I think the most important thing is to write down how the photos make you feel when you look at them.

P.S. I just put up my submission for the Backporch Memories guest designer contest, it won't hurt if you go give me some views or even a comment :) here

Sketch Inspiration #120

I really love the sketches over at sketch inspiration . This weeks sketch was no exception!

Here's the sketch:

And here's the awesome prize for the randomly drawn winner, I've always wanted a kit from Studio Calico, I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

And here's my interpretation:

I've been hoarding these october Afternoon papers for so long, I was happy to finally cut into them. I love the way stitching looks on layouts, but I have to drag my machine from the garage, thread it, and pray that it doesn't jam (but it usually does). So rub-on stitching is the next best thing I've found. Could you tell it was rub-ons??

Thanks for looking!!

First post!

Well, here I am. I am starting my official scrapbooking blog. At first I thought that no one would read a blog about scrapbooking, but I've fallen in love with so many other wonderful scrapping blogs, so I figured why not!

I'm going to start off by sharing a layout that I did for the Backporch Memories guest designer contest. I have applied for this every month for the past maybe 7 months....a little pathetic huh? For some reason I just can't give up, they give away one of their awesome monthly kits to the winner, and I really I enjoy the sketches they use.
"The Lotion Incident"

"POP" goes Chloe

I know Girl Friday by Cosmo Cricket is nothing new, but I could never get my hands on any until Michael's finally decided to carry some. So yes, it's new to me, and I just love the colors and patterns in this line!

So the competitive person in me probably won't allow me to give up on this contest until I win. I will keep you posted.....
