just a quick layout
I was in the mood to do a page and it wasn't for a contest, can you believe it? When I first started scrapbooking it was just about capturing those memories. now with so many sketch sites, challenge blogs, and design team calls, it's hard not to play along. I guess I figure I'm gonna be scrappin anyway, why not try to win something!
Here's what I did:
I used some of the leftover papers that I used on the shadowbox, some from "Dear Lizzy", American Crafts, and Making Memories. I'm happy I was able to blend some different manufactures together becasue lately I feel that I'm in a rut of sticking to one line because it's already coordinated.
On another note, over on the backporch memories forum, one of the ladies shared this awesome blog that I will now share with you. Do you like journaling labels? Do you like free stuff?

Happy mothers day!!!!! (a day late, but shouldn't every day be mothers day?)
Here's what I made for my mother in law. I was at my LSS and I came across this painters tray by 7 Gypsies I was instantly in love, I couldn't wait to fill up those little cubby holes with scrappy goodness! I think I could have added even more, but I wasn't sure if it would come across as shabby chic, or overcrowded, so I kept it just like this.

So I only started my obsession for scrapbooking just two years ago. Now I have the challenging task of looking back at really old pictures and trying to remeber just what exactly was going on, what was Chloe doing at this age??!! (this is a good reason to scrap if you don't already!)
My solution for this on this particular layout was to gather some photos of Chloe with her big happy smiles and recall what a happy little baby she was. No it's not too specific, but I think the most important thing is to write down how the photos make you feel when you look at them.
P.S. I just put up my submission for the Backporch Memories guest designer contest, it won't hurt if you go give me some views or even a comment :) here
